A fresh 2016 Xmas rock-POP song has been written, created and then recorded in a Phuket recording studios in Thailand by songwriter ‘Mark Hopkins’ with the key aim of getting attention and exposure for the Phuket island charities and Orphanage that Mark supports. You can listen and read more by going to the Tsunami Day site .
The tunes name is: I’m coming home for Christmas and the tracks is a unique up-tempo rock n roll song. Mark wrote and partially recorded a demo song guide of ‘I’m coming home for Christmas’ in 2015 on Phuket and has kept the demo track since then awaiting the opportunity to record once again. In August 2016 Mark began the recording process and used local session musicians to studio record the song durring a 6 week period. The songs contains 8 separate tracks and all session musicians were from the Philippines, including the lead artist ‘Micah Javier’.
Although I’m coming home for Christmas was studio recorded on Phuket the mixing and mastering was done in the USA as a result of Mark needed the best outcome and quality. The music is now ready to be heard and downloaded by going to the ‘Tsunami Day’ site.
The main aim of studio recording I’m coming home for Christmas is to bring as many people to the Tsunami Day web site as we can and then ideally in-turn they will be good enough to donate to one or all the Phuket island charities, and to also download the song.
One other main goal is to get enough downloads of the song to help fund and set up a Phuket live music bar with open stage and studio / teaching room on Phuket, which will present free classes and tuition to local underprivileged kids from the area’s schools and orphanages. To date ‘La QingTing’ is not currently open right now but the website is below. (QingTing means: Dragon Fly in Chinese if you are wondering).
About: Mark set-up the Tsunami Day site to promote his tune Tsunami Day which was inspired from his own particular experiences while he was living in Patong in 2004 once the Tsunami devistated Patong on boxing day. Much like ‘I’m Coming Home For Xmas’the track Tsunami Day also brought awareness to regional Phuket Charities and Orphanages. On the ‘Tsunami Day’ site there is numerous ways to simply help including a Thailand Hotel and budget flights to Thailand booking system. Every penny helps.
Credits: Mark would like to credit his sponsors: Michael Dietvorst (CEO of Oriental Living), Stuart Baker (GM of Food Hygiene Asia), Alan Cooke ( MBE ), Adam Goodman (GM of Two Chefs Restaurants) and Cassius Rolfe-Johnson (CEO of Phuket Home Services).
