Although statistics indicate that fewer people go to television, and in many cases people who do go rarely see all of the movies nominated for the Academy Awards, the broadcast of such awards is almost has one of several largest audiences, with america, but worldwide. Invariably, the show is simply too long, somewhat boring generally, with little theatrical value. The 2011 awards weren’t any exception.
In reality, unlike some years, there was really almost no suspense in connection with winners. Just about all that won any category were widely predicted, and the speeches were much too long. The attempt at using a “younger hipper” pair of hosts, and the first co-ed pairing onstage simultaneously, did little to enhance the show’s viewability. Both hosts looked like pleasant enough people, but seemed clumsy and often uncomfortable on this setting.
The pre-Awards show, that they can refer to as the Red Carpet, was only interesting to a person who would like to gaze upon the outfits warn with the celebrities. The inane interviews predominantly asked the same question about who designed the gowns, and added next to nothing towards the viewer’s experience aside from a way show.
I used to be very grateful that my partner finally even had motor the show, and “permitted” me to watch the majority of the lover in the N.B.A. game involving the Miami Heat and New York Knicks. Fortunately, it was to get an exciting and fairly well played game, even if in the current professional sports world, it turns out to get about one teams millionaire superstars in comparison to the others. And, for any lifelong Knick fan, it had been fun to watch the Knickerbockers drop Miami and defeat the heralded Heat team!
Obviously, the second the basketball game was over, I was forced to customize the channel to the 2017 Oscars, to pass through greater than yet another hour of tedium. So, what makes the Oscars quite popular? After passing it on some thought, I believe it’s probably because it’s the greatest way of escapism, the certainty show to “end” all reality shows! Some look at the show as fans in the stars, some to view the expensive clothes worn, some to root for many sort of “wardrobe malfunction,” and some to simply manage to discuss the show in their office at the water cooler the next day.
We mustn’t be surprised how the Oscars broadcast can be so popular. In the end, reality shows including The american idol show, Survivor, The Bachelor, game shows, etc., invariably wind up near the top of the viewer ratings. I assume we can easily take into account the Oscars sort of non combat sport, although in Hollywood there’s often a lot of “contact” and positively melodrama.
I may not understand why the Oscars are very popular, however it is apparently a global phenomena. The glamor, or living vicariously, or hero worship, or simply plain little else to accomplish, plays a role in get this popularity a reality!
