How weddings have changed over the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and large wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
These are rogues, wedding speeches are still a fundamental part of a marriage and guests do enjoy hearing them, referring to them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We know of father of the groom speech delivered prior to the meal, throughout the meal after your food, however it’s of a strong opinion that the wedding speeches should be delivered following your meal. I know that for many wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the 5 main speakers), they will want to hold the wedding speeches prior to meal, so they can enjoy their meal (some of them are paying for it!). However, is going on the invited guests and just how many of them (and even the wedding ceremony venue staff) would prefer wedding ceremony speeches to get delivered as soon as the meal for most reasons, some of which include:
The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and are not playing wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which could be prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival on the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served on the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches before the meal as well as their can be quite a delay of A quarter-hour to at least one.5 hours, driving your kitchen staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The marriage speeches behave as the transition from the meal for the dancing (with nothing happening following the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared in regards to the Bride & Groom and they are fully aware they’re able to get out of bed, move about, take a break, go for a walk, visit the bar…)
It’s a challenge for fogeys of the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public places, as most of them couldn’t survive used than it. So, they could, if they so wished, speak before the / their meal.
There should always be some form of formal wedding speech(es) following your meal…
