Most prominent among these changed rules are related to customers who hold savings accounts at metro, urban, semi-urban and rural branches. The lender has created mandatory maintenance of minimum balance during these accounts from April 1.

In metropolitan areas like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru there will be a charge of Rs 100 plus service tax, when the balance goes below 75 per cent from the minimum average balance.
