The Knights Templar would be a group of knights, who had been led by Hugues De Paynes and so they considered the patriots of Jerusalem and served as a possible army to safeguard the interests of Jerusalem and Christianity. This group was formed as soon as the First Crusade that occurred between 1095 and 1099.
There are 9 knights altogether that accustomed to protecting the Christian pilgrims planing a trip to Jerusalem. Jerusalem the Holy Land where the shrines with the religion remain. There is a long history that goes with all the Knights Templar and in addition different theories. One could be that the knights thought it was difficult to recruit people for cause noisy . a lot of the formation from the group. So they did not expand. This band are brilliant that they were trying to find buried treasure within the Temple Mount, which is sometimes called the Al Aqsa Mosque today.
It turned out Bernard of Clairvaux, Cistercian abbot, who promoted the Knights with a large degree. He even wrote the rule for the order. Furthermore, he wrote instructions praising order, and yes it was this letter that brought name and fame towards the Knights Templar in Christian Europe. The letter became popular with the Christians and finished up attracting several men who starting joining the Templar order. Individuals who couldn’t offer their services gifted them land and precious gifts. Also, over time for their popularity the Templars took over as the wealthiest crusaders and have become important politically across many the european union. They won several battles. Some were lost and several were won however overall they played a very important role inside the holy land of Jerusalem.
After two centuries of defending Christianity, the Knights Templar order was ended by Philip IV. If the knights were arrested, these folks were designed to confess to be able to types of crimes under torture like spitting on the cross and idol worshipping. Finally, in 1312, Pope Clement V disbanded the order as the status for the order was severely tarnished. Although it has to be declared that an order wasn’t in prison for any crimes.
