When Jesus came and brought the gospel of Christianity it had been welcomed by the masses as exceptionally very good news. Thousands followed him to listen to the language of life which he spoke. After he was crucified, his disciples continued preaching and teaching his ways and so they were likewise welcomed because the bringers of fine news.
Of course not everybody was thrilled with this new teaching. The established religion for the day opposed it violently, even putting many to death for preaching the language of God. They whipped, beat, imprisoned and crucified many who made a decision to follow or teach the newest gospel. But regardless of the suffering inflicted, they could not destroy this teaching or halt the spread on this very good news.
One of several charges laid up against the early teachers of the gospel was they, “Turned the entire world upside down” using this type of teaching (Acts 17:6). Truly, the modern teachings of the gospel of Christ were great news and tremendously powerful.
Many people accept several things, however, not many would elect to suffer abuse, torture, ridicule or perhaps die as an alternative to renounce their beliefs. But such was the enormity and strength of this nice thing about it.
Consider even the state of the apostles right after Jesus ended up offer death. They were subdued and meeting in Jerusalem, wondering what to do next after their Lord and teacher had been obtained from them. But then while they were gathered together right then and there of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit with all the power of God discovered them, transforming them into powerful and charismatic preachers from the great news. Peter stood up among the people at his preaching on that day, 3300 people considered god upon hearing the great news from the gospel (Acts 2:14-42).
Such could be the strength of the preaching of Christ who’s can not be merely called very good news yet it’s “Great News”. No time before or since has there been such a message as powerful since the gospel and truth of Christianity.
Why is this message so powerful? Nowadays man is plagued effortlessly means of evil, both from inside and without. Man suffers at the hands of his fellow man and many more so at their own hands by succumbing to the desires of his flesh. Man suffers disease, sickness and death, often as a result of his very own passions and needs. Man sins continually through lies, cheating, envy, jealousy and commits acts of murder, adultery, abusing drugs, theft, insurrection and all sorts of means of wrongdoing. On account of these and several other activities, man is actually in a state of stress.
Just watch the evening news or grab a newspaper and you will see the sin and evil rampant on this planet which has man in their grip. It really is tremendously stressful to view or read these items. Pressure and tension build until a lot of people reach the point where they wish it would all go away or they may escape the strain.
To be released because of this stress would truly be not just good news, but Nice thing about it. And that’s precisely what Jesus and his disciples offered in their teachings, and why the folks flocked to listen to these words with the nice thing about it in the gospel of Christ.
The reality from the Gospel is approximately freedom, and it’s also on the market today equally as it was during this time.
