How weddings have changed within the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; a simple wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of the second, wedding speeches are nevertheless an important part of being married and guests do anticipate hearing them, speaking about them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.
We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered ahead of the meal, through the meal after the meal, yet it’s of the strong opinion that the wedding speeches needs to be delivered as soon as the meal. I understand that for a lot of wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father with the Bride Speech, Father with the wedding speeches (the five main speakers), they would would rather have the wedding speeches before the meal, for them to enjoy their meal (many of them are paying for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and exactly how a lot of them (and indeed the wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather the wedding speeches being delivered as soon as the meal for many reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and are not listening to wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which could be the case prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival on the wedding venue)
Food might be cooked and served on the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches prior to meal as well as their is actually a delay of 15 minutes to a single.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches work as the transition from your meal to the dancing (with nothing happening after the meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared regarding the Bride & Groom after which it they are fully aware they can stand up, move, come out, go for a walk, visit the bar…)
It can be hard for fogeys with the Bride & Groom to talk in public places, the majority of them couldn’t survive used from it. So, they may, when they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.
There should always be some sort of formal wedding speech(es) as soon as the meal…
