How weddings have changed in the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight marriage ceremony members; a simple wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Talking about rogues, wedding speeches continue to be an important part of a married relationship and guests do enjoy hearing them, discussing them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, during the meal and after the meal, however it’s of a strong opinion that this groom speech must be delivered after the meal. I realize that for most wedding party speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father in the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they would want to possess the wedding speeches prior to meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are paying for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and the way many (and indeed the marriage venue staff) would like the marriage speeches to get delivered after the meal for most reasons, a few of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and aren’t paying attention to wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which may be before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches ahead of the meal as well as their could be a delay of A quarter-hour to 1.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The marriage speeches act as the transition through the meal on the dancing (without a penny happening as soon as the meal, individuals are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared in regards to the Bride & Groom and they are fully aware they are able to stand up, maneuver around, take a rest, go for a walk, see a bar…)
It can be hard for parents of the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public areas, the majority of them would not be used than it. So, they may, if they so wished, speak prior to the / their meal.
There should still be some kind of formal speech(es) as soon as the meal…
