Probably the least understood expression of the human mind is our emotional intelligence. An emotion may be the outcome of a feeling. And even though it’s simple enough to acknowledge when you’re “feeling” something – many times, it less clear precisely what a “feeling” actually is.
Based on Webster’s Dictionary, a feeling is “a partly mental, partly physical, response marked by pleasure, pain, attraction, or repulsion.”
However, this says nothing about the reply to the sensation! Suppose two different men purchase a used car as well as for some odd reason both have similar experience – the controls comes lose two days later.
Both men obviously “feel” upset.
One expresses that feeling being an intense emotional rage. One other man also expresses his feeling as a possible intense emotion – a relaxed determination to eliminate the situation with the car dealer.
So what are “emotions?” Basically how you feel are physiologically-based responses in your feelings. An emotions is the place you *respond* to some feeling of pain, pleasure, attraction or repulsion. Emotional responses vary from one individual to another because they are actually *learned responses.*
How a “Law of Attraction” Works
Both neuroscientists and behavioral scientists have established that when you have a solid emotion about something – your body strengthen the your brain’s physical neural pathways focused on that “something.”
This is the neurological first step toward what metaphysical writers have for ages referred to as the “Law of Attraction.” The modern scientific version of this ancient law could be stated: You “attract” everything you intensely focus your emotion on – as with doing this, you build strong brain neural networks proportional to that particular something.
Here’s an example scenario. Suppose you’re purchasing a Ford Pinto automobile. You select that which you feel is regarded as the exciting as well as color for the Pinto – crimson. But if you hit the path together with your new red Pinto, you suddenly see one to another from the very same model – also red.
You’d never before noticed that red is in fact the most frequent color for that Ford Pinto!
What happened is your new red Pinto has established a lively neural awareness. Your neurons have already been sensitized to see similar cars from your excitement (intense emotion) regarding your new car!
Do you attract these red cars? Of course not, however you undoubtedly are now very conscious of their presence.
The strength of Positive Emotions
Let’s consider how this works when it comes to goals. For instance a goal to “escape” poverty vs a target to attain “financial independence.”
Although both goals look toward exactly the same end result – they deal with quite different dr jill. The desire to flee poverty is fueled by fear, even though the need to attain financial freedom is fueled by positive attraction.
While both might get you towards the same end goal – the “Law of Attraction” predicts a significant different experience along the path leading toward the thing.
If you build neural pathways according to doubt and fear, you will sensitize yourself to events or conditions that might relate to your fears and self-doubt.
Let’s say you instead build neural pathways based on strong feelings of self-confidence and anticipation? You’ll then find yourself recognizing opportunities resulting in your goal – equally as you suddenly noticed dozens of red Pintos.
Everything you focus intense emotion upon has a tendency to “attract your brain’s attention” to a lot of same. This law is neither negative nor positive. It simply is!
Focus how you feel on the problem and give in your fears, and just what you fear will gain actual neural strength. Instead approach your lifetime goals with positive, passionate desire – what you *really* want – and pour how you feel into your pursuit!
